The Mathematical Foundation
history
Dedicated to providing prohibitively expensive mathematical and
scientific tracts, tables, and texts to educational institutions, teachers,
and students via charitable donations and purchase subsidization.
The concept of The Mathematical Foundation arose from the need to
disseminate mathematics tracts which were so massive as to be
unaffordable by the average library or school.
It was acknowledged that if they couldn't be sold due to their high
price it would be necessary to give them away.
Working at the behest of the Charles D. and Melba Pruitt
Educational Trust this is exactly what has transpired.
Hopefully the initial success of the pilot program will make more
and varied texts available for the same purposes.
