biographical and/or anecdotal:
notes or source:
"Biographical Encyclopedia of the Kings & Queens of Great Britain" by Mike Ashley
This receives the "speculative" blue background for the following reason:
All sources list *Waldeve of Tynedale as the father with no other background.
Note the Uchtred-Waltheof-Uchtred pattern in naming and then note it is contemporaneous
with Uchtred-Waltheof-Uchtred of Dunbar.
And commoners don't marry king's daughters i.e. *Bethoc Princess of Scotland.
Furthermore *Waltheof of Dunbar's sister was the wife of *Donald II King of Scotland.
*Donald II King of Scotland's father is *Malcom III King of Scotland and brother of Bethoc's father *Donald III "the Bane" King of Scotland.
